Mary Ruth Yates received the AFL-CIO endorsement for State School Board District 8 at their recent meeting in Prattville. This follows her earlier endorsements by ADC, New South, the Auto Workers, AEA, HEA, South Huntsville Civic Association and the Huntsville Professional Firefighters Association..

Mary Ruth is blessed to have the support of local V.I.P.'s who continue to support public education. On September 7th, former Congressman Bud Cramer appeared at a fundraiser in support of Mary Ruth Yates. On September 14th, Mrs Cathy Anderson of Woody Anderson Ford, sponsored a fundraiser and evening of fun at her Port of Madison Holiday Inn. Chef Michael Griffin prepared excellent food to accompany the wine-tasting. Mary Ruth greatly appreciates all those who gave generously in support of the campaign.

Mary Jane Caylor, whose fourth term on the state school board ends in January, on Tuesday endorsed Democrat Mary Ruth Yates' bid to replace her on the board.
Caylor, a former superintendent of Huntsville schools, noted Yates' longtime experience as a teacher, assistant superintendent, and two-time interim superintendent of the same school system.

May 4 was a huge day for me. My Kick-Off and Fundraiser was held at Early Works Museum and was very successful. I so appreciated the many friends who took time to come by and visit as they showed personal support
for me. A highlight of the evening was being presented a beautiful, feminine basket of flowers by my almost-two year old grandson Joey. A great day for me. I am encouraged to campaign even harder for this office.
